OCR description
The covered entity (CE), United Neighborhood Health Services dba Neighborhood Health, reported that its business associate (BA) was the victim of a ransomware attack that affected the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 1,519 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, dates of birth, and medication information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE updated its HIPAA policies and procedures.
